Several major dealers are reporting that the vast majority of their shipments of NFL Legends 3 Sports Picks have sustained major case damage, resulting in delayed deliveries of ordered cases, sets and singles. Also: Chase figures for this series have been confirmed.
spawntoys.com, godlytoys.com, allstarfigures.com, bigboyztoyz.com and other dealers have notified customers that their shipments have sustained severe damage. The clamshells for as many as 10 of the 12 figures in each case has been damaged. According to one dealer:
"We received word from Mcfarlane Toys that our shipment of NFL legend 3 has been delayed
a few extra days because they have discovered that many of the skids of NFL
legends 3 product have been damaged. They had to sort out the damaged cases
and this caused a delay in the shipment. We anticipate them to arrive mid
week next week and will ship your order as soon as they arrive."
Other dealers have posted pictures of the damaged cases on their sites.
McFarlane is working with the dealers to address the issue but the company has stated that the series will not be reproduced. For this reason Legends 3 could be available in lower quantities than what was originally programmed.
While the dealers are having to work with McFarlane to resolve the matter, buyers should be advised that the problem comes from the company that shipped the orders and/or the service provider who chose to use flimsy cardboard boxes for the cases. While some collectors are complaining about the new style of clamshells, the damage took place to the cases and not to the individual figures themselves.
Collectors who pre-ordered cases, sets or individual Legends 3 figures from any online dealer should contact their dealer for a status update. Dealers and McFarlane are asking for patience on this matter.
In other news, the following chase figures have been confirmed for NFL Legends 3:
- Roger Staubach - helmet features a red stripe in place of one of the blue stripes, as was used in 1976 by the cowboys.
- Earl Campbell - White jersey.
- John Elway - White jersey.
- Reggie White was released in both the Packers and Eagles uniforms in a 50/50 split. This is not considered a chase.
