McFarlane Announces Exclusive Trevor Linden Sports Pick Figure

New Figure Available Only Through Vancouver Canucks Website This October

Source: McFarlane Toys — Posted 5/21/2008

McFarlane Toys is teaming up with the Vancouver Canucks for an exclusive Sports Picks figure of Trevor Linden.

He spent some time in New York, Washington, D.C. and Montreal, but Trevor Linden's heart never strayed from Vancouver. He was named captain of the Canucks at age 20, and would later play for Team Canada in the Olympics, as well as serving eight years as president of the NHLPA.

In 1994, Linden led the Canucks to the brink of their first Stanley Cup, pushing the New York Rangers to Game 7 of the Finals. Linden delivered a pair of goals in the decisive game, but Vancouver was edged by New York 3-2.

Linden's contributions stretch off the ice as well, and Linden's charitable work was recognized with the King Clancy Memorial Trophy in 1997. Throughout 16 seasons in Vancouver, "Captain Canuck" left it all on the ice - building a legacy the fans will never forget.

McFarlane Toys has created a new look for the classic Trevor Linden figure - showing off the new-look Vancouver jerseys they wore in the 2007-08 season.

This limited-edition figure will be available exclusively through the Vancouver Canucks and their Web site, canucks.com/teamstore or canucks.nhl.com this October.
