McFarlane Releases Photos of Mariano Rivera Collector's Edition

Tweaked Version of MLB 18 Chase Goes on Sale in August '08

McFarlane has released photos of the upcoming Mariano Rivera Collector's Edition figure.

The new Rivera figure is the same as the MLB 18 Chase figure except that the Collector's Edition is in different packaging and features the 2008 Yankees jersey, with patches on the left and right arms of the jersey. Like the MLB 18 Chase, the Collector's Edition figure includes the full wall background to the figure.

In 2007 McFarlane planned the MLB 18 Rivera figure to include the full bullpen wall but this was set aside due to production costs. Because photos had already been released with the wall, McFarlane chose to make this version of the figure a chase in the series, and announced that they would try to re-release it in 2008 to make it available to more collectors. This Collector Edition is a fulfillment on that announcement.

Look for the Mariano Rivera Collector's Edition in stores in late August, 2008.
