So
what do you think about (insert description here)?
Why
dont you have (insert brand here) sports figures on this site?
Well,
because 1) I dont know about it or 2) I dont have the information
about it. I want all the other sports figures that have been released on this
site. Little by little I'm tracking that information down.
Do you have
that information? Let me know! I would LOVE to get a complete listing of
Starting Lineups for the database. If I can get the info from you in a
format I can use, Ill add it to the site. Send me a note and let me know
what you have in mind. If you have a database or spreadsheet or even just a typed
checklist of figures by some company not included here, contact
me and let me know about it.

Why dont you have (insert
brand here) non-sports figures on this site?
The main focus of this
site is sports action figures. (Hence the name.) Hundreds of lines of nonsport
figures have been released and there is no way I could track down and add all
that information to the database, let alone keep it up to date. For products that
are strong enough to be included in something like this, they probably already
have websites dedicated to them.
Ive added McFarlane Military figures
to this site and I may add Spawn and McFarlane Dragons in the future if I can
get them to send me the data on their sites. Why? Theyre widely available
figures that have been around for the while and stayed strong as a product line,
and I like the company a lot.
If there is a specific nonsports product
line that you have the information for and would like to see it on this site,
contact me and we can discuss it. With very few exceptions
I'm going to leave non sports action figures to other websites that are devoted
to those product lines, but I'll listen if you have a suggestion.

Why dont you have wrestling
figures on this site?
I'm not going to get into the "is wrestling
a sport or not" debate. Suffice it to say that I have no plans to add wrestling
figures to this site. That said, if someone had a spreadsheet of all the wrestling
figures and wanted to put the information on that site, I'd be happy to speak
with them.

Why
dont you have soccer figures on this site?
I'm just not interested
in it. I have no plans to add soccer figures to this site. That said, if someone
had a spreadsheet of all the soccer figures and wanted to put the information
on that site, I'd be happy to speak with them.

What makes your site different?
I'd
like to think it is designed well, easy to navigate and use. I'm a writer, photographer
and web designer/developer and I'm using all those skills in this project. Also,
this site gives you the ability to search across several different product lines
all at once. You can search within one product line for player name, position,
series or generate team lists. You can see photos of many of the figures, larger
sized photos to give you a good idea what you're looking at. You can also print
checklists of product lines for your own use. Add in the news releases from various
companies, a dictionary of hobby terms, articles on sports figures, a list of
McFarlane Sports Picks customizers, and more, and you'll see that this website
has a great deal of information about a variety of sports figures, not just Sports
Picks.

Are
you on the Spawn.com Board?
Yep. I'm very active on Spawn.com's Sports
Picks forum - my user name is Sibelius.

Are you an opener or a MOMC collector?
I'm
an opener all the way. I even opened the Super Bowl Exclusive Ladanian Tomlinson
- is that ballsy or what?

How come you have (insert name here) figure listed
on this site but there is no photograph? Can I submit photographs?
Because
I don't have a photograph of it. Do you? I welcome photos of any figure unless
I already have lots of pix of it. If you would like to email photos to me, here
is what you do:

Are you going to incorporate a price
guide for figures?
Very doubtful. To do a price guide that has any
real legitimacy is a huge undertaking. I know of one website that attempts to
provide this - props to him! It's a lot of work. I think he makes a very honest
attempt to estimate values of figures . . . I just don't have the resources to
achieve the level of statistical validity or incorporate national / regional inputs
that I'd want to have if I were doing it.
Unlike sports cards, sports toys
and figures don't have the variety of established secondary market outlets in
towns and cities across the country. Basically, for sports figures you have Ebay
and you have a selection of online dealers. If you're interested in what a figure
is worth, your best bet is to go to Ebay and look that figure up with a completed
auctions search. That will give you a more accurate idea of the value of a given
figure as well as the amount of interest in it.

How do you pay for this site?
I
do offer banner ads and will incorporate some pay-per-click advertising on this
site to offset my costs. The site is new so advertising is cheap - if you're a
dealer or manufacturer, now is the time to get in on it and lock in a low price!

page for more information.

So what do you think about
(insert description here)?
The purpose of Sports Action Figure.com
is to provide you with extensive information about sports action figures that
have been released and announcements that cover upcoming releases. It's about
facts, and not about my opinion of things. I try very hard to keep my perspective
out of the site's database or news announcements.
That said, there are many
situations and subjects within the sports collector hobby that are worthy of discussion.
For that reason I have added a blog to Sports Action Figure.com. In the blog I
will offer thoughts and opinions about a wide range of topics involving the sports
collector hobby, or on sports in general. Want to know what I think? Visit the
Sports Action Figure Blog and
check it out.
Got a question not answered here? Drop
me a note and I'll be happy to reply.
